This Entrepreneur Is Working To Reinvent Government Grantmaking
Applying for a government grant, especially from the U.S. Federal Government, can be daunting, so much so that many worth applicants are dissuaded even from applying. Sedale Turbovsky, a social entrepreneur based in Sacramento, is using artificial intelligence to reinvent the paradigm, hoping to make it easier to find and ultimately to apply for such funding.
The new venture, called Egeria Corporation, is in the development stage. Sedale is actively seeking input from nonprofit leaders and social entrepreneurs who may want to use the new database–which will be free for those seeking funds. Those wishing to contribute ideas should visit egeria.io.
Interview with Sedale Turbovsky, the CEO of Egeria Corporation.
The following is the pre-interview with Sedale Turbovsky. Be sure to watch the recorded interview above.
Revenue model: Egeria operates on a SaaS and DaaS subscription model. The majority of users will access the platform for free, driving engagement, data collection, and creating the desired network effect. Similar to the model employed by Google, our goal is to efficiently organize and provide free information to users, in exchange for data.
Scale: Egeria is an early stage, pre-revenue startup.
What is the problem you solve and how do you solve it?
The United States government spending equaled $3.9 trillion in 2018. Sadly, this economic opportunity is not open to everyone. Barriers to access and communication prevent what would otherwise be productive public-private partnerships. Estimates put the total waste across this ecosystem at about 5%, which equals almost $195 billion. That dollar amount does not begin to address economic impacts of a lack of equity.
Egeria is a SaaS platform that provides users with a comprehensive view of public funding and contracting opportunities across the United States. Users can track, research and identify relevant public funding opportunities for free. This reduces barriers to access funding, as well as improves the Government’s ability to engage reputable, diverse and capable vendors.
Egeria becomes a digital partner with agencies, building bridges between stakeholders and government. We leverage user data to efficiently map the stakeholder ecosystem and enhance agency and stakeholder collaboration. This platform will increase and promote collaboration and understanding.
More about Egeria Corporation:
Egeria is a SaaS platform that facilitates the efficient and wise deployment of public funds by reducing barriers to access and increasing accountability. Many existing barriers to access and inefficiencies of deployment can be reduced or eliminated through the implementation of user-friendly enterprise-class technology. Egeria is a software solution that will alleviate wasteful spending and support productive public-private partnerships.
